Home THOUGHT PROVOKING... AnonyMouse Diet, Challenge to us
Diet, Challenge to us

You know how some of us go on diets. We go on sugar free diet, grape diet, lemon diet, this diet, that diet....May Allah make it easy for all those facing weight challenges and any sort of disease. However, as many of you know, tomorrow night will be Lailatul Ba'raah. Now there are numerous authenticate kitaabs on this very significant night, and there will be bayaans

on our local radios or in the Masajid, so I will not delve into that matter.

However, I have a challenge to you. Yes you...you and you. You who is scrolling this message with grubby little chocolate fingers you! Accept my challenge? You scheme you are a don if you can bench 110? If you can make the boys go oOoOoOh when they pass you? OK....try my challenge:

As Hazrat Maulana Yunus Patel(r.a) used to say, let's try going on a diet from 'sins'. Its now around 40 days from Eid. Thus, if we start on this Lailatul Ba'raat it will be perfect timing! Wait wait read on...I really think we should all try this! Here is a list of what I suggest we do, with the intention of pleasing Allah and trying never to return to our former sins:

1) Try and stay away from perpetual sin completely and 100%, if we do sin, read 2 Rakaats of Nafl Salaatul Tauba.
2) If we have a habit of doing something really out of habit, eg. pornography, or watching something, or meeting our beloveds, impose a stiff penalty on yourself. This would be like 10 Rakaat nafl Salaah with R100 in Sadqah.
3) Delete all members of the opposite sex from our bbm, whatsapp or whatever. Even if it is our beloved gf/bf. Tell them you will contact them After Ramadhaan(Not saying its ok but lets try and stay away from them). Remember how we live our Ramadhaan will dictate how the other months are spent. So if we spend it in sin, you figure it out.
4) If you are a boy, start wearing a topee(mosque hat) and wearing your pants above the ankle. If you are a girl, start wearing the scarf.
5) Start reading all our Salaah on time...5 Salaah. Get someone to wake us up for fajr if we must. For boys, if we can make it for jamaat, then we must!
6) Read minimum 3 pages of Quraan aloud everyday, with correct tajweed.
7) Recite the following Zikr everyday: 100 times Astaghfirullah, 100 times 1st Kalimah, 100 times durood and 100 times the name of Allah.
8) Everynight, before we go to sleep: Make Wudhu and read 2 rakaats nafl salaah(make intention of Salaatul Taubah, with Salaatul Hajaat and Salaatul Shukr). This is the last thing we do, no facebook, no whatsapp no nothing after. Even if we don't stick to the above, WE MUST DO THIS(and our fardh obligations).Make the following dua after reading:

“Oh Allah! I am your extremely disobedient servant. I make the intention of obedience but nothing can happen with my intention while everything can happen with Your intention. I want my islah to be done but I never build up enough strength. My islah is all in your control. Oh Allah! I am extremely incompetent, and extremely evil, and an extreme sinner. I am becoming hopeless – help me! My heart is weak. I don’t have the strength to save myself from sins. Provide the means of my forgiveness from the unseen.”

Come on guys, these 8 points. 40 days. Take the diet, and I promise in shaa Allah our lives will change....Do you not want to live a life of happiness? Do we not want to please our Lord? Let's try this! For Ramadhaan and these 15 days before!

Make intention!

Hadeeth Newsflash

Reported by Abu Hurairah (RA): The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Allah, the Exalted, says: `I will contend on the Day of Resurrection against three (types of) people: One who makes a covenant in My Name and then breaks it; one who sells a free man as a slave and devours his price; and one who hires a workman and having taken full work from him, does not pay him his wages.'''
