Home THOUGHT PROVOKING... AnonyMouse Your Last Salaah
Your Last Salaah

Did you miss my emails? I know you did...you were sitting there all sad and wondering what happened to Mouse.

Anyway today we are going to talk about something that should help each of us. Alhamdulillah we read our Salaah. Some of us may be slacking, but in shaa Allah we read 5 times(with Jamaat for men). However we don't have that kushoo and sincerity with our Salaah.

It is more like a up down, kiss the ground and back to town procedure. Look at our friend Mouse and some examples of what goes through his/her mind during salaah:

1)Mmmmm Mummy is making something thats smelling nice. I hope it comes out nice. Last time it was soooo hawaat(nice).
2)Ay this Imaam skeems he is practicing for taraweeh. What he thinks, this is an endurance lap in Le Mans or something. he reading so long surahs?
3)I wonder how I can score with that hot chick from the coffee shop. I saw her smiling at me today.
4)I can't figure out how to solve that stupid integration problem. What if I integrate over another region?
5)Sings some tune from a song just heard
6)I hope Torres scores tonight. Wait who am I kidding, its Torres.....

What is an easy way to overcome this?
Imagine now it is Esha time/Fajr time or some salaah time. And the Angel of Death comes and says:
"Fathima/Mohammed/Humayrah/Smelly Person/Bujia/Aalia(yah)/Yusuf/Insert your own name here, this is your final salaah. Unfortunately after this Salaah, I will extract your soul, so make the most of it'.
Imagine the salaah that we will experience then. We will raise our hands properly, tie them, possibly shed tears, make a proper sajdah/rukhu etc. After it we will raise our hands fervently in dua and beg of Allah Ta'Ala whatever we wanted.

But let us ask ourselves, do we ever know if this indeed could be our final Salaah?
My humble plea to every one of you, and to myself, is to simply start your next Salaah, and before you do, imagine it is your last. Imagine it is truly your last...and see the difference!
