Oh, this email is gonna create a nice little storm. I am sure I will get a ton of emails as replies because I have touched a sensitive area, and I will get alot of people blocking these emails. Nevertheless, You are not forced to receive this email, and as stated at the beginning, i will remove you if you ask.The purpose of this email is n

ot to gain friends, but to become friends with Allah Ta'ala and propogate truth. Furthermore, I don't think I am better than anyone, as I was also guilty of attending these events in the past, Allah forgive me. I can actually see people sitting and saying: "OMG HE NEVER SAY THAT....OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH".

Nevertheless, the point I would like to bring about, firstly for myself, and thereafter each and every one of us is the guise of shaitaan that rubbish. Before I start, let me make it clear as crystal that doing good is incumbent on every single Muslim. Whether it be raising funds, helping orphans, teaching people, medical help etc and by NO means am I discouraging anyone from doing good. The point that I would like to bring across to us, is that the guise under which Shaitaan leads us is very very sneaky. He knows that he cannot misguide us in the big things necessarily, for instance if he put a cold castle lager(may we never be face with that) in front of you then we would turn away. So how is he going to tempt us? He tempts us in little things, and often in the disguise of deen.

We need to ask ourselves, do the gatherings of today's Muslim youth, and I am not singling out any organisation or event, comply 100% with the laws of Shariah. Let me ask you this my dear brother and sister, if Islam has made it impermissible for man and female to intermingle, then why do we have functions and meetings and fund raisers together? Is there a purdah that is being put between the brothers and sisters? Or do we not know the actual reality, where we come to these gatherings and actually steal glances at the opposite sex. Where we meet our illicit partners. Where we scope out the opposite gender, then get their number, and then we all know where that leads. Nay my dear brother/sister, this is not Islam. If you would dare debate this issue with me and feel that this can be justified then I ask you to do me this favour: close your eyes, imagine you on the vast empty land on the day of Qiyaamah. You are standing there with billions of humans around you, at the very front, on the 'witness' stand. On one side you see Nabi Sallalahualayiwasalam, on the other you see all the Ambiyaa allayhisalaam and you are facing Allah Ta'Ala. Would you be able to defend yourself in the court of Allah in this case? Would you be able to justify to Allah the reason why you co-ordinated and invited a mixed function? Would you be able to justify why Faatima and Mohammed(fictitious names) met up in the corner and you were fully aware of it? Justifying it to me, to Moulana so and so might be possible, but if you have a doubt(even 0.1%) that you will not be able to justify it in the eyes of Allah Ta'Ala then my dear friend, steer clear.

Some say it is an issue of Dawah. Is the issue of bringing another to Islam only in your hands, yes make the effort, but ask any Aalim if it is worth risking your imaan. Play out this hypothetical situation-WHICH I HAVE SEEN WITH MY OWN TWO/FOUR EYES(not exactly as the end). A fictitious story: Brother Bajia brain and Sister Samoosa Head decide it is time they start involving themselves in a local Muslim youth organisation. There intention is noble, they want to help. Bajia and Samoosa see each other at the first function, and both actually kinda smaak each other. Ya, bujia is a bit skraal and samoosa is a bit jaari, but they got an incling to each other. Bajia asks his friend half-moon to organise Samoosa's bbm pin and they start making oondo-danda. Eventually they actually start attending these functions just to meet each other quietly, or see each other. The whole world thinks they are so good because they are involved in good. One night in Ramadhaan they were having a get-together(the organisation) and bujia and samoosa sneaked off to Bujia's Ford Escourt with lowered suspension and mag rimz etc. Nevertheless they were in the car doing whatever, but let's call it adultery. Whilst in the car a taxi swerves out of control, jumps the pavement and crashes into Bujias car. Unfortunately the force of the impact crushes and kills them both. Forget what society will say, forget what the papers will say, the point is that at the time of Zinnah the Imaan of an individual leaves the body-IMAGINE DYING IN THIS STATE. That should be our break, 'what if' I died like this?

My last and final point, for those of you who haven't deleted this email yet, is this. Take the next function you are going to, and ask yourself this: If Nabi Sallalahualayiwasalam was alive, would he come to this function? Forget 'liberal' times, because he was perfect in every aspect and thought us every aspect of living, nothing needs to be changed. Would he be standing next to you, in that crowd? If not, then why are you there? It is one thing to do things on our own, but to do it under the banner of Islam, is that not a greater sin?

Again, I am not saying that doing good is haraam. But think about it. For those coordinators out there who are doing all this, you will be held responsible if things were done contrary to Shariah, especially under the banner of Islam. Nobody says don't have these get-togethers, have them by all means! But you will see barakah, and help many more people if it is done in complete accordance with Shariah.

Please forgive me if I have offended anyone, but this is my true and firm belief. May Allah Ta'ala give me the ability to practice on this firstly in shaa Allah.

Hadeeth Newsflash

Reported by Jundub bin `Abdullah (RA): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "Once someone said: `By Allah! Allah will not forgive such and such (a person).' Thereupon Allah, the Exalted and the Glorious, said: `Who is he who takes an oath in My Name that I will not grant pardon to so-and-so? I have granted pardon to so-and-so and rendered your good deeds fruitless.''' [Muslim]
